(Representative Image)

Social media is flooded with accounts of workplace harassment. Some choose to speak out and fight for their rights, while others endure in silence under mounting stress. One such story from Bengaluru is now gaining attention. A 25-year-old woman recently quit her job at a well-known startup to safeguard her mental health. The work environment had become so toxic that she began experiencing panic attacks even before arriving at the office. In a surprising turn, most of her team also resigned, citing similar concerns about the unhealthy workplace culture.

Taking to Reddit, the woman wrote, “I’m a 25F based in Bengaluru. I recently put in my papers after months of going through mental harassment at work. I was working as a Product Experience Manager at a major startup and honestly, it got to a point where I would have panic attacks before even stepping into the office. Things were just that bad. What makes it harder is that it wasn’t just me, almost my entire team ended up quitting because of how toxic things had become. I held on as long as I could, but I knew I had to choose my mental health over everything else.”

“Right now, I’ve given myself about 4 months to find a new role and I’m looking for opportunities in customer experience, operations or product consulting roles, preferably something remote or hybrid. If you’ve been through something similar or have any advice on how to navigate job hunting after an experience like this, please do share,” the 25-year-old added.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Looks like bad work culture is a norm in Indian startups. Founders burning investor money and expecting 1 person to do 3 people’s work to compensate for that.”

One more added, “Don’t know what is happening in Indian corporate culture. Every industry you look at, they have a toxic work culture. Is there even a single Indian company where someone can work peacefully?”

A few weeks ago, another story made waves online, leaving many shocked. An employee recounted having a breakdown during a video call while working from home. They were left alone with the CEO and a few others from different branches, people they barely knew. Throughout the meeting, the CEO repeatedly raised his voice and didn’t allow the employee to speak. As the tension escalated, the employee became so overwhelmed that they began having trouble breathing. Eventually, they collapsed under the pressure, and their mother had to rush them to the hospital.

Buzz Staff

A team of writers at News18.com bring you stories on what’s creating the buzz on the Internet while exploring science, cricket, tech, gender, Bollywood, and culture.

A team of writers at News18.com bring you stories on what’s creating the buzz on the Internet while exploring science, cricket, tech, gender, Bollywood, and culture.

News18’s viral page features trending stories, videos, and memes, covering quirky incidents, social media buzz from india and around the world, Also Download the News18 App to stay updated!

Location :

Delhi, India, India

First Published:

News viral 25-Year-Old Bengaluru Woman Quits Job Over Panic Attacks: ‘Entire Team Walked Out’

Last Updated:July 02, 2025, 13:17 IST A 25-year-old woman in Bengaluru chose to leave her high-paying job at…

[36
27715,210,605,517,27716,6766,27714,27713,67,132,68,27712
0":"post-33105","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mental-health","8":"tag-employee-resignation","9":"tag-health","10":"tag-job-hunting","11":"tag-mental-health","12":"tag-panic-attacks","13":"tag-remote-work","14":"tag-startup-environment","15":"tag-toxic-work-culture","16":"tag-united-states","17":"tag-unitedstates","18":"tag-us","19":"tag-workplace-harassment
["GET
