On the Oct. 23 episode of the late-night show, Fallon talked about major tech companies helping fund President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project<\/a> during his opening monologue.\"A<\/p>\n

The episode’s guest was Kristen Bell<\/a> from Season 2 of Nobody Wants This<\/a>, to which Fallon said, “Speaking of things nobody wants, Trump’s ballroom is still in the news.”\"A<\/p>\n

“Yeah, and get this, Trump just raised the estimated cost of his new ballroom by $100 million, to a total of $300 million,” Fallon continued. “America’s like, ‘It’s nice to know even the president can get ripped off on renovations.'”\"A<\/p>\n

At the center of Fallon’s joke was the supposed list of donors who would help bring the president’s pet project to completion. “Speaking of the ballroom, I saw that the White House just released the list of donors giving money to the project,” he said.\"A<\/p>\n

CBS News<\/a> reviewed a list of 37 donors provided by the White House, which included Google, Amazon, Palantir, Microsoft, T-Mobile, Nvidia, and more.<\/p>\n

“Americans heard and were like, ‘Yeah, still not the list of names we’re looking for. But, you’re getting there.”\"A<\/p>\n

Fallon is seemingly referring to the Epstein files, aka the client list, which has been a major topic of contention among politicians and the public.\"Person<\/p>\n

Fallon continued, “Some donors include Apple, Google and Microsoft. Although, when it comes to sponsoring a bigger ballroom, you’d think Fruit of the Loom and MeUndies would be involved. Another donor is Hard Rock International. So, don’t be surprised when this is the new East Wing,” before cutting away to an image of a large guitar sticking out of the White House.\"The<\/p>\n

This joke may come as a surprise to viewers who recall Fallon’s comments on CNBC<\/a> from September. While appearing on the news to promote his new series, On Brand, he said, “Our show’s never really been that political, you know. We hit both sides equally, and we try to make everybody laugh, and that’s really the way our show really works. I mean, our monologues are kind of the same that we’ve been doing since Johnny Carson was doing The Tonight Show<\/a>. So, really, I just keep my head down and make sure the jokes are funny.”\"A<\/p>\n

His comments came amid Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>! briefly being taken off the air by ABC after his remarks about the killing of Charlie Kirk<\/a>, and Late Night with Stephen Colbert<\/a> being permanently canceled on CBS next year.Around the same time, Trump shared<\/a> a Truth Social post, revealing he hoped Fallon would be canceled soon, too. “Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Show is CANCELLED,” he wrote in the Sept. 17 post. “Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT.”\"A<\/p>\n

Well, all things considered, Kimmel’s show wasn’t canceled, and Fallon’s is still cracking political jokes with no hesitation. That’s 0\/2 for the president. Oof.<\/p>\n

Apparently, Trump’s $300 million, 999-person-capacity, 90,000-square-foot ballroom is going to be bigger than the actual White House<\/a>, believe it or not. And with that being said, I can see why even Fallon had to say something about the ridiculousness.\"A<\/p>\n
