{"id":332341,"date":"2025-10-25T21:04:22","date_gmt":"2025-10-25T21:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/332341\/"},"modified":"2025-10-25T21:04:22","modified_gmt":"2025-10-25T21:04:22","slug":"denton-county-city-of-fort-worth-partner-for-road-work-near-texas-motor-speedway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/332341\/","title":{"rendered":"Denton County, city of Fort Worth partner for road work near Texas Motor Speedway"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tA traffic study conducted in 2023 will lead to improvements in traffic signals and pedestrian crossing at SH 114 and Championship Parkway, near the Texas Motor Speedway.<\/p>\n<p>The estimated project is $5 million, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dentoncounty.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Denton County<\/a> funding $3.5 million of it. The city of Fort Worth will use $1.5 million from Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 2 to pay for design and construction. Denton County will advertise, bid and award the contract for the work, according to city documents.<\/p>\n<p>According to city <a href=\"https:\/\/fortworthgov.legistar.com\/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=7652136&amp;GUID=93809FEA-BFF3-4FEB-B806-65BD9D22042B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">documents<\/a>, work will start Jan. 31, 2026, and will be completed no later than Jan. 1, 2028. There is a six-month option for an extension, if needed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A closer look<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to city documents, pedestrian crossings will be added due to safety concerns for northbound and southbound traffic near the intersection across from Texas Motor Speedway.
