{"id":332635,"date":"2025-10-26T00:07:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T00:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/332635\/"},"modified":"2025-10-26T00:07:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T00:07:23","slug":"wim-fissette-says-what-people-get-totally-wrong-about-naomi-osaka-and-iga-swiatek-after-coaching-them-both","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/332635\/","title":{"rendered":"Wim Fissette says what people get totally wrong about Naomi Osaka and Iga Swiatek after coaching them both"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMXlnMTNoeXE4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Iga Swiatek has enjoyed a largely successful player-coach relationship with Wim Fissette since appointing him in October last year. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/Wim-Fissette\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fissette<\/a> in her corner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/iga-swiatek-issues-emotional-statement-on-instagram-regarding-her-wimbledon-title-win\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swiatek became the Wimbledon champion<\/a> after an incredible run at the All England Club, ending in a dominant win over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/amanda-anisimova\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amanda Anisimova<\/a> in the final. <\/p>\n<p>The Belgian has also guided the world number two to her 11th <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA<\/a> 1000 title this season, as well as the Korea Open crown. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2236548655-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Iga Swiatek kisses the Korea Open title after beating Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final\" class=\"wp-image-131500\" \/>Photo by Chung Sung-Jun\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his time with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/iga-swiatek\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Swiatek<\/a>, Fissette was the coach of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/naomi-osaka\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Naomi Osaka<\/a>, with whom he also recorded a number of triumphs, including two Grand Slam victories.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old recently compared the two WTA stars and claimed his experiences coaching them have been \u2018completely different\u2019. <\/p>\n<p>Wim Fissette speaks on his time with Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka<\/p>\n<p>Fissette had two spells with Osaka, the first of which was from 2020 to 2022, during which the Japanese star captured the US Open and the Australian Open. <\/p>\n<p>Osaka reappointed Fissette in 2023, but parted ways with him again in September last season, a month before he was hired by Swiatek. <\/p>\n<p>Discussing the two players in an interview on the \u2018Inside-In\u2019 podcast, Fissette said: \u201cGoing from Naomi Osaka to Iga, it\u2019s a completely different style.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cannot even compare. Sometimes people ask me \u2018aren\u2019t they a bit similar, they are both a bit introverted\u2019.
