In the pre-game hours of Saturday morning, focus turned from College GameDay to a surprising report from The Athletic<\/a> that the representatives for Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian were expressing interest in NFL opportunities.<\/p>\n

The report prompted a strong response from Sarkisian\u2019s agency, CAA, led by super agent Jimmy Sexton, who is regarded as the best in the business for his ability to utilize any possible leverage for the benefits of his clients.<\/p>\n

After the remarkable comeback by No. 22 Texas over Mississippi State in Starkville that culminated in a 45-38 overtime win, Sarkisian fired back at the report and everyone who magnified it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really pisses me off that one person can make a report that in turn, the entire media, sports world runs with as factual to the point of my agency and my agents have to put a statement out,\u201c Sarkisian said<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to do that to protect my locker room and my team. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. I thought it was completely unprofessional of that person to that put that report out, and the fact that everybody ran with it is borderline embarrassing for the media. I respect what you guys do, I really do, and everybody else, but the fact that everybody ran with that as truth is really embarrassing.
