Snider Plaza is in the middle of a glow-up, which can come with some pain (right? We hear). The shopping center, originally built in the \u201920s is redoing the drains and parking lot. Either way, the old shopping center next to SMU campus is thriving with both the old \u2014\u00a0Kuby\u2019s Sausage, Bubba\u2019s and Burger House \u2014\u00a0and new. <\/p>\n
New Eats at Snider Plaza<\/p>\n
We recently wrote an article titled \u201cCrepe Expectations<\/a>\u201d about a new creperie at Snider Plaza. The Parisian-inspired spot, which serves dozens of crepes, has a huge patio that will be lovely once the parking lot construction is done. <\/p>\n There\u2019s also the new enchilada and fajita spot El Molino <\/a>from Vandelay Hospitality, which also owns Hudson House, DL Mack\u2019s and Drake\u2019s Hollywood. We haven\u2019t tried this yet, but we are fascinated that the menu is the same as Joe T. Garcia\u2019s in Fort Worth, one of the most overrated restaurants in North Texas<\/a>. We hope this is a grandiloquent clap back. Praise be. <\/p>\n And don\u2019t miss Gelato La Boca<\/a>, a small but cute artisanal Argentinian gelato shop that has thrived as an online delivery spot. Their Snider Plaza location opened in August and is the company\u2019s first brick-and-mortar. <\/p>\n More to Come<\/p>\n Sueno is the next restaurant at Snider Plaza, set to open early next year in the space formerly occupied by Peggy\u2019s BBQ. The new space will feature a live-fire kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. <\/p>\n Sueno\u2019s flagship location in Richardson opened in 2021. For this expansion, the restaurant partnered with The Bellomy Hospitality Group, a locally owned company that operates S&D Oyster Co., Rex\u2019s Seafood and Cache. <\/p>\n Per a press release, Sueno aims to offer a \u201crefined yet heartfelt expression of contemporary Mexican cuisine, one rooted in heritage and driven by innovation.\u201d <\/p>\n What\u2019s that look like on a plate? Tacos, enchiladas, fajitas and fish plates. We got a first look at the Richardson spot in 2021<\/a> and called it \u201cdreamy,\u201d and rather enjoyed the elevated plates. We had a ceviche with citrus-marinated snapper and birria stacked enchiladas with layers of homemade corn tortillas and short rib. <\/p>\n The team at Sueno has partnered with JSa of Mexico City and ch_Studio of Arlington to hone in on authentic Mexican architecture and art. <\/p>\n We\u2019ll let you know when this space gets an opening date. They\u2019re aiming for early 2026. <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
