It was like a different moment. It was the first time I felt that sound, that environment, so it was a good moment for me.”

Man Utd fans are starved of success

If Amorim was surprised by that level of noise in the stadium, then he’d better get used to being surprised weekly if the team keeps up that level of form.

The reality is that United have always had one of the most raucous followings in world football, let alone in England.

But it’s also a fanbase that hasn’t been given much to shout about in the last few years, at least consistently.

As a result, there is a lot of pent-up relief and joy that comes out when the players look like they actually care and are putting in their maximum effort.

There aren’t many things more beautiful than an Old Trafford crowd that has sensed blood in the opposition, as they can single-handedly drive United players to pummel the opposition by transforming themselves into a cauldron of passion.

Now that they finally have players who treat that pressure as a privilege, a marriage made in heaven might just have gotten its first dose against Brighton.

Long may it continue!

Ruben Amorim has been in the Manchester United job for almost a full year now, but the Brighton…

[45
12445,221,62,67,132,68
0":"post-333903","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-soccer","8":"tag-ruben-amorim","9":"tag-soccer","10":"tag-sports","11":"tag-united-states","12":"tag-unitedstates","13":"tag-us
["GET
