Kennedy Jr.<\/a> \u2014 wasn\u2019t exactly smooth sailing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The move from Hollywood to D.C. was, uh\u2026 you know, it was, at first, it was scary because it felt like starting over at 35,&#8221; Hines said with a laugh. &#8220;I\u2019m not 35. Andrew\/Bloomberg via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had my really close friends that said, \u2018OK, you\u2019re going to get through this, no matter what happens.\u2019 And it made my friendships stronger,&#8221; she told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the political noise surrounding Kennedy\u2019s campaign, Hines said what surprised her most was how many people from across the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political spectrum<\/a> reached out with support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think what was really surprising to me was how many Democrats, independents and Republicans supported Bobby,&#8221; she said. &#8220;That was surprising, because usually a candidate has one or the other. So that \u2014 I love that so much. This is why this change is necessary&#8217;\u2026 I\u2019m going to lean into it. I\u2019m going to go with it and see what it\u2019s about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"pull-quote\">\n<p class=\"quote-text\">&#8220;Change is always good and it\u2019s almost always hard\u2026 sometimes you dread it\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> \u2014 Cheryl Hines<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hines has stood by Kennedy through the highs and lows of his political and personal life. She recently shared the intense spotlight and safety fears that came with his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/elections\/campaigning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presidential run<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She revealed that at one point, Kennedy \u2014 whom she affectionately calls &#8220;Bobby&#8221; \u2014 suggested they pretend to be separated to ease public scrutiny.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH: CHERYL HINES FACED HOLLYWOOD BACKLASH OVER HUSBAND RFK JR.&#8217;S PRESIDENTIAL RUN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In my book, \u2018Unscripted,\u2019 I talk about this because things got\u2026 dramatic during this presidential campaign,&#8221; Hines told Fox News Digital. &#8220;Some people were very upset that I was even married to Bobby. They were vocally coming at me because I\u2019m married to Bobby. So, Bobby felt like, \u2018You shouldn\u2019t be having to take that heat.
