SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio empire is quietly honoring the coach who helped bring the franchise to greatness.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the San Antonio Spurs made a post on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing the latest banner honoring beloved coach Gregg Popovich.<\/p>\n

This year marks the first season since 1996 that Popovich hasn’t been at the helm of the Spurs organization, with Mitch Johnson being promoted from assistant to head coach.<\/p>\n

As head coach for the San Antonio Spurs, Popovich led the Spurs to five NBA Championship titles and was awarded Coach of the Year in 2003, 2012, and 2014.<\/p>\n
