PHOENIX, Ore. — Safety along the Bear Creek Greenway is a top priority the Phoenix Police Department.<\/p>\n

Officers are continuing to patrol the greenway day and night to ensure the safety of those enjoying the greenway for activities like walking and biking.<\/p>\n

They are also conducting wellness checks and resource outreach for homeless individuals along the greenway, as well as cleaning up abandoned camps, litter, and fire hazards.<\/p>\n

The community is encouraged to report suspicious behavior or hazards through the non-emergency dispatch. This helps maintain a safe environment for everyone.<\/p>\n

Local authorities are also exploring innovative safety measures. Ideas include employing a Problem-Oriented Policing officer and using drone technology to monitor heavily wooded areas.<\/p>\n
