{"id":334594,"date":"2025-10-26T20:40:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-26T20:40:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/334594\/"},"modified":"2025-10-26T20:40:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-26T20:40:19","slug":"donald-trump-deflects-tensions-with-brazils-luiz-inacio-lula-da-silva-by-blasting-boring-reporters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/334594\/","title":{"rendered":"Donald Trump Deflects Tensions With Brazil\u2019s Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva by Blasting \u2018Boring\u2019 Reporters"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Donald Trump brushed off another world leader\u2019s frustration over their marathon press conference by telling journalists they were \u201cboring\u201d him anyway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Trump scrambled to deflect toward the end of a press conference with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Malaysia on Sunday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019re not great questions today, I must say,\u201d Trump joked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The pair met on the first day of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 2025 summit. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s a lot of boring questions. We\u2019ll see you later, thank you,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Moments before, Lula encouraged the media to wait until his meeting with Trump concluded before peppering the two world leaders with more questions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI would like to suggest the press continue the interview after the meeting,\u201d he said. \u201cWe don\u2019t have much time, and we don\u2019t want to waste time or lose time talking with journalists. We have a lot to talk about. Buda Mendes\/Getty Images <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Having noted early on he thought journalists would have good news \u201cafter\u201d they\u2019d convened in private, Brazil\u2019s president seemed eager to get to the meeting with Trump about U.S. tariffs underway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Trump\u2019s love of media appearances is well-established. Asked by reporters about Bolsonaro, he said \u201cI always liked him\u2026 feel very badly about what happened to him,\u201d before snapping back that it was \u201cnone of your business\u201d whether the former president\u2019s case would be \u201con the agenda today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Brazil\u2019s courts convicted Bolsonaro in September of attempting to overthrow the results of the country\u2019s 2022 election. Currently under house arrest, he faces 27 years in prison on charges including an assassination plot against President Lula.
