Fire crews Friday pulled out bags of marijuana from a commercial building where massive fire broke out.<\/p>\n
Two firefighters became injured when the roof of the building collapse in the fire while a portion of West Century Boulevard near Hawthorne Boulevard was shut down for several hours. <\/p>\n

After the blaze was reported at around 10:29 a.m., within minutes, it was declared a second alarm fire, requiring fire crews to ask for additional units due to the seriousness of the fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n
NBCLA crews at the scene heard what sounded like a huge explosion at around 12 noon. <\/p>\n
Firefighters said the building once housed a 98-cents store, but it appeared to be abandoned at the time of the fire. A neighbor also told NBC Los Angeles the 98-cents store closed at least one year ago.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
By the evening, firefighters were on a defensive mode.
