The provision was initially <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/phit-act-gets-major-boost-as-house-passes-trump-tax-bill\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">included in a version of the tax bill passed by the House of Representatives<\/a> last month, offering renewed hope that the PHIT Act would finally make it over the line.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply disappointed that the Senate-passed reconciliation bill excluded the physical activity HSA provision, despite its thoughtful inclusion in the House version,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthandfitness.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Health &amp; Fitness Association (HFA)<\/a>, wrote in a note to members on Tuesday. \u201cThis bipartisan measure, rooted in the PHIT Act, would have allowed Americans to use up to $500 annually ($1,000 per household) from their health savings accounts (HSA) to cover fitness and physical activity expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>HFA, the <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/key-takeaways-hfa-show-2025-advocacy-strength-training\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">leading non-profit trade organization for the American fitness industry<\/a>, has championed the PHIT Act as a way to make exercise more affordable and accessible for millions of Americans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fitness industry leaders and political analysts expressed <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/fitness-industry-has-huge-opportunity-under-trump-experts-say\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">optimism that the bill had a serious chance of making it over the line<\/a> this year, citing the Trump Administration\u2019s stated commitment to healthcare reform under the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>  See Also<\/p>\n<p>    <a href=\"https:\/\/athletechnews.com\/five-personal-training-certifications-five-unique-personalities\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/personal-trainer-cert-180x180.webp.webp\" class=\"attachment-theissue-thumbnail-x2 size-theissue-thumbnail-x2 wp-post-image\" alt=\"Personal trainer working out with client\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis provision wasn\u2019t just smart health policy.
