Surrounded by monsters, ghouls, and the sound of chainsaws ringing, it was a dream proposal setting for one Yucapai couple.<\/p>\n
This October, Manuel Gutierrez decided he would give his wife of nearly a decade the proposal she had always wanted during their visit to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.<\/p>\n
“It’s our favorite holiday. So yeah, I always knew that I wanted to do something with Halloween,” said Manuel Gutierrez. “As long as Sophia and I have been together, Halloween’s always played a factor in our relationship.”<\/p>\n
The couple eloped about 10 years ago, but Sofia Medina says it was always in the back of her mind.<\/p>\n
“We just went to court, got married. I was always a little bummed that I never got like the big proposal, you know, so that’s why for our 10-year, he decided to do it,” said Medina.<\/p>\n
Gutierrez posted the video of the proposal to his TikTok account, which garnered more than half a million views and hundreds of comments. The video shows his unsuspecting wife being escorted by Art the Clown, who happens to be her favorite scary character, to the center stage.<\/p>\n
Gutierrez followed behind them before getting down on one knee, again. An elaborate plan, he was even able to propose with their original wedding ring.<\/p>\n
“Since we’re married, she has her ring already. I had to swipe it like 3 or 4 days prior to us going, because I knew I wanted to take it in and her obviously not know,” said Gutierrez.<\/p>\n
