{"id":335587,"date":"2025-10-27T07:57:24","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T07:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/335587\/"},"modified":"2025-10-27T07:57:24","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T07:57:24","slug":"auburn-nfl-roundup-tank-bigsby-flies-again-with-philadelphia-eagles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/335587\/","title":{"rendered":"Auburn NFL roundup: Tank Bigsby flies again with Philadelphia Eagles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"SVTC3DIVJBFNZIKZ62G3JUN65I\">After rushing for 766 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2024 season, running back <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/topic\/Tank%20Bigsby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/topic\/Tank%20Bigsby\/\">Tank Bigsby<\/a> had all but disappeared in the 2025 season \u2013 until Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"EPO3IMIKHJBNBB5DUQQGZLKAEA\">In Philadelphia\u2019s 38-20 victory over the New York Giants, Bigsby ran for 104 yards on nine carries for the Eagles. <b> <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Y3FRH3JKJNGAJLVDD4DN5PM2JU\">Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/sports\/2025\/09\/philadelphia-eagles-trade-for-former-auburn-running-back.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/sports\/2025\/09\/philadelphia-eagles-trade-for-former-auburn-running-back.html\">joining Philadelphia in a trade<\/a> with the Jacksonville Jaguars after the first game of the 2025 season, Bigsby had one carry for 11 yards, one reception for minus-1 yards and nine kickoff returns for a 20.8-yard average. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VWZJVGNLKVB5DIO7X3WOLICNFE\">But against New York, which beat Philadelphia 34-17 two weeks ago, starting running back Saquon Barkley ran for 150 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries, and Bigsby helped the Eagles push their rushing total to 276 yards in Sunday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QWPNGCZGDNHRFGPFQBV35RJ5KY\">The third 100-yard game of Bigsby\u2019s career came after he had played 18 offensive snaps in the first seven games of the 2025 season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Z3YM5SSGUJEB7DGTW2C5SEEAFY\">\u201cObviously, there\u2019s a reason we traded for him,\u201d Philadelphia coach <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iSjdvwPDCc0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iSjdvwPDCc0\">Nick Sirianni said<\/a>. \u201cReally, really explosive runner, and we see that all the time in practice. And as he\u2019s caught up to our system and everything that we do and learning it, he\u2019s gotten more opportunities, and it\u2019s been it\u2019s been fun to see him run with the football. But I wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s a surprise with how he looked today because we obviously saw that in Jacksonville reason, why how we went and got him, and then we see it in practice every day, where you\u2019re like, \u2018Hey, we got to get this guy some touches.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"MVZZPW3PUJG47MDO27XERV7DRI\">\u201cAnd he\u2019s made the most of these opportunities. I mean I think he\u2019s averaging over 10 yards a carry in two games now. Not a ton of carries as of yet, but we know we can count on him because he can run violently, he can make you miss, he\u2019s explosive, he can hit a home run, so I\u2019m excited about what he brings to the table.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AYAVXNFF4ZAGDPE245V6J53TLY\">The game was the first for Philadelphia with two 100-yard running backs since LeSean McCoy ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries and Bryce Brown ran for 115 yards and one touchdown on nine carries in a 54-11 victory over the Chicago Bears on Dec. 22, 2013. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2Q4NKO2CLFEQPGMY3SZC66TLSA\">In 2020 and 2022, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Miles Sanders had games in which each reached 100 rushing yards. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"EPFE6SKGBFF27IJEPQCP6MBBKI\">Barkley and Bigsby became the first running-back duo to turn in two 100-yard performances in the same game in the NFL since D\u2019Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard in the Carolina Panthers\u2019 37-23 victory over the Detroit Lions on Dec. 24, 2022. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2EXJ3HKDEBE55HMEWDBHYFMCTI\">Bigsby was among the 14 former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/auburnfootball\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.al.com\/auburnfootball\/\">Auburn <\/a>players who got on the field on the eighth Sunday of the NFL\u2019s 106th season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2CLID2JF5BAFTNFXXSY6UL4H64\">One other former Auburn player was involved in the New York-Philadelphia game:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"XC3ZBN3OZJD45GOQBWCA5UVDLU\">Darius Slayton started at wide receiver for the Giants. Slayton had two receptions for 26 yards as he returned from a two-game injury absence. Slayton lost a touchdown catch to an offensive pass interference penalty. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"64SOERTWM5G3DMGXJUB3R5IJ24\">In the other Sunday games:<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"TKJAGTY5RBGGXAHAGGXPUDWLBY\"><b>Miami Dolphins 34, Atlanta Falcons 10<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"5YZ23SOYQ5C6FHO2LNOTGZMK24\">Dolphins linebacker K.J. Britt (Oxford) made one tackle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ATQP5EOWGRFGLBU6O5C7B2IEYU\"><b>Baltimore Ravens 30, Chicago Bears 16<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"YWNDDAWWYBHZBPLJCGCD2W6MKQ\">Ravens defensive end Carl Lawson is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VD3QRRNP7JAMPLELXSJC36UOJM\"><b>Buffalo Bills 40, Carolina Panthers 9<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"YQBDVDV4T5CVTFW2BSV4XKO45Y\">Derrick Brown started at defensive end for the Panthers. Brown made one tackle. Brown dealt with a knee problem during the game. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HNNE776A3JH5THMTIMJA4WDZLM\"><b>New York Jets 39, Cincinnati Bengals 38<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"SE6AU7ENLJAFRMJVTQJ2TCXDJE\">Jets defensive tackle Byron Cowart is on injured reserve and not eligible to play.<\/li>\n<li id=\"UEZ2RCBNQJACHKBONZV5F33BXI\">Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood made five tackles and broke up one pass. Sherwood had started 22 consecutive games for New York and had 32 more tackles this season than any other player for the Jets. Dean made six tackles, registered one quarterback hit and forced one fumble. New Orleans recovered the fumble.<\/li>\n<li id=\"EGSQXLC62JCWPMOZU5ISAF4LYA\">Buccaneers defensive tackle Jayson Jones (Calera) is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.<\/li>\n<li id=\"V5BFAWUVMJAG5GS32KHLRKOLEE\">Saints linebacker Eku Leota did not record any stats. New Orleans elevated Leota from its practice squad to make him eligible to play.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"DKWJB5EC3VCP3INV2CA5QSLT7E\"><b>Denver Broncos 44, Dallas Cowboys 22<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"article__unordered-list\">\n<li id=\"WRNIMNTNGNGE7PUWCI6XIGV7CA\">Cowboys tight end Rivaldo Fairweather is on the practice squad and not eligible to play.<\/li>\n<li id=\"RAA6WXKWFBAOVEVXQTYZH44CM4\">Bo Nix (Pinson Valley) started at quarterback for the Broncos. Nix completed 19-of-29 passes for 247 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.
