Congratulations are in order for Serena Williams<\/a>, who was just honored in Oviedo, Spain with the Princess of Asturias Award for Sports. Recognized for her contribution to the industry, she joined a long lineup of inspiring athletes who accepted the award in past years\u2014from fellow American Lindsey Vonn<\/a> to Spanish Badminton olympian Carolina Mar\u00edn.<\/p>\n

For the special occasion, she picked out a bold ruby-red gown, designed with a one-shoulder neckline and draped with swirling fabric details. The work of Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta, the sculptural look balanced boldness with a sense of timelessness, perfect for the renowned tennis player and beloved fashion icon. Styled by Kesha McLeod, she paired the maxi dress with matching pointed-toe heels, and kept the jewelry simple with a watch on one wrist and delicate bracelet on the other.<\/p>\n

Her burgundy nails gave some depth to the all-red color palette, and her fuchsia-tinted lips brought everything together. Her blonde hair was styled by Angela Meadows with loose Hollywood curls, and her glowing makeup by Pauline Briscoe added some extra shine. To top it all off, Williams wore a pin with the emblem of the foundation, given to her with her award.<\/p>\n
