This sneak peek strongly suggests that the town&#8217;s Native Americans discovered a way to trap &#8220;It&#8221; there since the monster first arrived on Earth, while all signs indicate that the military wants\u00a0to capture the entity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There will also be less time than expected to wait for &#8220;The Thing in the Dark,&#8221; as HBO has confirmed that the second episode of It: Welcome to Derry\u00a0will debut early on HBO Max in celebration of Halloween, beginning Friday, October 31 at 12:00 am PT\/3:00 am ET. The episode will also air on HBO on Sunday, November 2, at 9:00 pm\u00a0ET\/PT.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/it-welcome-to-derry-premiere-shocking-cliffhanger-our-red-wedding-11836484?taid=68fed2d8332fc6000137d699&amp;utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+New+Content+%28Feed%29&amp;utm_medium=trueAnthem&amp;utm_source=twitter\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u00a0about that gruesome opener, showrunner Jason Fuchs teased, <strong>&#8220;The entire story of the season is set in motion by what happens at the end of episode 1, this massacre of the Capitol Theater. You&#8217;ll see in episode 2 the way the aftershocks of that play out.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;We know that we&#8217;re telling, in some ways, a story that is familiar,&#8221;<\/strong> he continued. <strong>&#8220;We&#8217;re going back to a town people have seen, we&#8217;re going back to a character, Pennywise, that people are now familiar with over the course of two films, and we&#8217;re gonna have kids in danger.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;But the question was, &#8216;How do you then still surprise the audience? How do you communicate that from the very beginning of the season?
