According to the World Health Organization, Lenacapavir is a highly effective alternative option to the daily oral PrEP pills, as the injection only needs to be taken every six months.<\/p>\n<p>SAHPRA spokesperson Yuven Gounden said that safer sex practices are still recommended as a way to prevent HIV, in addition to Lenacapavir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The registration of Lenacapavir is a game-changer, given the high prevalence rate of HIV in South Africa.
