\u201cThe View\u2019s\u201d co-host Sunny Hostin said President Donald Trump\u2019s move to deck out the White House with an $300 million ballroom<\/a> is a sign that he doesn\u2019t plan on leaving his presidency anytime soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s done everything that people thought that he would never do,\u201d Hostin said during \u201cThe View\u201d on Monday. \u201cI actually have come to the conclusion that he is most definitely going to try to remain in power, because remember that East Wing\u2014 it\u2019s going to take a long time to build that. He is hooking up the White House because he doesn\u2019t plan on leaving it. I don\u2019t think he plans on leaving.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time the panel was discussing Trump\u2019s recent remarks<\/a> after being questioned about pursuing a third term, during which he shared that hasn\u2019t ruled out the idea. The group also highlighted Steve Bannon stating that \u201cTrump is going to president in \u201928.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI always thought, OK, the 22nd Amendment is so clear \u2026 no president can run twice,\u201d Hostin said, as she mentioned former President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who served a third term. \u201cWe put this into the Constitution for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

By the end of the conversation, co-host Whoopi Goldberg said it doesn\u2019t matter what Americans think, Trump is going to do what he wants.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s going to write something, and he\u2019ll say, \u2018I found a loophole and so I can do this.\u2019 Not consecutive, consecutive, doesn\u2019t really matter,\u201d Goldberg said. \u201cIf he wants to do it, and there\u2019s no opposition, he\u2019s going to do it. There needs to be opposition. People have to make decisions around the country about who they\u2019re voting into office.\u201d<\/p>\n
