{"id":337138,"date":"2025-10-27T23:47:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T23:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/337138\/"},"modified":"2025-10-27T23:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T23:47:11","slug":"to-stop-the-zohran-mamdani-nightmare-new-yorkers-must-get-out-and-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/337138\/","title":{"rendered":"To stop the Zohran Mamdani nightmare, New Yorkers must get out and vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To have any hope of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/why-many-nyc-democrats-will-never-vote-for-zohran-mamdani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stopping the looming Zohran Mamdani<\/a> catastrophe, New Yorkers need to get to the voting booth and cast their ballots against him.<\/p>\n<p>The situation couldn\u2019t be more dire:<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/zohran-mamdanis-hijab-wearing-aunt-who-feared-for-her-safety-post-9-11-revealed-as-his-dads-second-cousin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Mamdani\u2019s promises <\/a>\u2014 free buses and child care, no rent hikes, etc. \u2014 and charm have won him a commanding lead in the polls.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, that edge is narrowing dramatically in final days: A Suffolk University survey finds he\u2019s now just 10 points ahead of second-place <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/andrew-cuomo-narrows-gap-against-zohran-mamdani-in-nyc-mayoral-race-new-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contender Andrew Cuomo,<\/a> down from a 20-point lead last month.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, the over-54 crowd \u2014 which polls suggest favors Cuomo \u2014 turned out big for early voting this past weekend, boosting his prospects further.<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani\u2019s core strength \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/mamdani-freezes-when-asked-for-details-on-how-hell-deliver-key-housing-promise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democratic Socialist activists<\/a> and the folks they can manage to bring in \u2014 was vital to his victory in the June primary, but is less of an advantage the higher overall turnout gets.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\tMore From\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPost Editorial Board<\/p>\n<p>If enough sensible <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/27\/us-news\/boomers-gen-xers-dominate-nycs-early-voting-tallies-why-that-could-be-a-bad-sign-for-zohran-mamdani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Yorkers cast their ballots<\/a>, they can prevent a victory by the antisemitic socialist and head off disaster for Gotham.<\/p>\n<p>New Yorkers, it seems, are starting to wake up to the Mamdani threat.<\/p>\n<p>They know turning the city into a socialist haven would spell disaster.<\/p>\n<p>That the punitive tax hikes he\u2019s envisioning would send the city\u2019s tax base fleeing, triggering a major fiscal crisis.<\/p>\n<p>That businesses will skedaddle, taking jobs, tax revenue and economic activity with them.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>They know his rent freeze will destroy much of the city\u2019s housing stock, leaving apartments in shabby shape and shutting many low-income tenants out of the market altogether.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/25\/us-news\/house-republicans-push-to-denaturalize-mamdani-over-citizenship-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Yorkers understand <\/a>that his \u201cfree\u201d buses (assuming he can find the money for them) will be packed to the gills, and\/or turned into rolling homeless shelters \u2014 even as the subways are starved for riders and fare revenue.<\/p>\n<p>They fear a crime spike when Mamdani quietly defunds and cripples the NYPD. Minorities realize they\u2019ll suffer most.<\/p>\n<p>Parents are keenly aware they\u2019d have no one to hold accountable for lousy schools if Mamdani wins, since he\u2019s openly vowed to ditch mayoral control, restoring a system run by the teachers union and geared to serve adult interests, not students.<\/p>\n<p>Nor do they want legalized prostitutes strutting down streets where their kids walk.<\/p>\n<p>Jews fear he\u2019ll let his fellow antisemites run wild as they claim their \u201cfree-speech rights\u201d to \u201cglobalize the intifada.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We understand why many of our readers prefer Curtis Sliwa, but a vote for him is not a vote to stop Mamdani: The grim fact is that,\u00a0at this point, Cuomo is the only candidate who can.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it\u2019s encouraging to see Mamdani\u2019s support finally collapsing, but it\u2019ll still take every single vote for Cuomo to overcome that 10-point deficit.<\/p>\n<p>We know: It\u2019s hard for many New Yorkers to get behind Cuomo, given his own disappointing record. Every vote counts.<\/p>\n<p>Early voting began Saturday, and polling places will remain open every day \u2014 up until and including Sunday.
