{"id":337517,"date":"2025-10-28T03:38:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T03:38:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/337517\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T03:38:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T03:38:16","slug":"possible-serial-killer-linked-to-disappearance-of-tv-anchor-found-responsible-for-2006-wisconsin-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/337517\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Possible serial killer&#8217; linked to disappearance of TV anchor, found responsible for 2006 Wisconsin murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An EMT who died by suicide in his jail cell and was named a person of interest in the disappearance of a TV anchor was found\u00a0responsible for the 2006 killing of a Wisconsin woman, according to authorities, who suspect he may have been a serial killer. <\/p>\n<p>Christopher Revak, who killed himself in 2009 inside a Missouri\u00a0jail\u00a0cell, would be charged with the murder of 21-year-old Deidre Harm if he were still alive, according to a letter<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1118604637111431&amp;set=pcb.1118608130444415\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> posted on Facebook from Wood County District Attorney Jonathan Barnett.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>An EMT who committed suicide in his jail cell and was named a person of interest in the disappearance of a TV anchor has been found\u00a0responsible for the 2006 killing of a Wisconsin woman. Wood County Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI consider this case closed,\u201d Barnett wrote.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cI believe I had enough to charge and, if Mr. Revak were still alive, win at trial,\u201d he said in the memorandum.<\/p>\n<p>Harm, a single mother in Wisconsin Rapids, disappeared on June 10, 2006, after going out to a bar with her friends. <\/p>\n<p>Revak, a former EMT and Wisconsin native, had been visiting family in the area when the young mother vanished, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Her remains were found five months later\u00a0in a wooded area five miles away from the bars downtown. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis may provide some closure for many, but won\u2019t bring Deidre back,\u201d the Wood County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Wisconsin Rapids Police said in a joint statement. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts and prayers will always be with Deidre\u2019s family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Revak died by suicide in his jail cell in July 2009, only one day after being charged with second-degree murder for the death of mom of three Rene Williams.<\/p>\n<p>Williams, 26, was last seen in a Missouri watering hole where she worked as a bartender. Revak had also been in the bar that evening, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox9.com\/news\/jodie-huisentruit-person-interest-who-died-suicide-responsible-wi-murder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FOX 9 reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Deidre Harm, a single mother in Wisconsin Rapids, disappeared on June 10, 2006, after going out to a bar with her friends.  Wood County Sheriff<\/p>\n<p>DNA evidence linked Revak to her killing, Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ky3.com\/2025\/10\/22\/authorities-believe-douglas-county-man-was-serial-killer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told KY3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had his DNA at the scene. We had her DNA inside his truck,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cI think the biggest thing was that they weren\u2019t able to find a body. They had no witnesses to come forward to say that she was dead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re dealing with what\u2019s possibly a serial killer,\u201d Degase added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring his day, he\u2019s doing his deed to society and helping people and saving people, but there was a dark side to Chris Revak.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Revak was also named a person of interest in the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, a morning anchor for KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/investigators-uncover-possible-serial-killer-linked-womens-murders-missing-tv-anchor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Fox News reported. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Huisentruit, 27, vanished around 4 a.m. on June 27, 1995, after calling a colleague to say she was on her way to the office. <\/p>\n<p>Investigators found evidence of a struggle outside her apartment, including a pair of high heels and a bent car key. <\/p>\n<p>Revak was also named a person of interest in the disappearance of Jodi Huisentruit, a morning anchor for KIMT-TV in Mason City, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>She was declared legally dead in 2001 despite her body never being found. <\/p>\n<p>Mason Police has clarified that there is no direct evidence linking Revak to the decades-old cold case, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/findjodi.com\/update-iowa-wisconsin-investigators-meet-on-dismissed-huisentruit-lead\/?fbclid=IwY2xjawNsdkxleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFTVjVvWjZEWFZGNGM2eVFwAR7G-RUZuJtMU7KHPypscWpH5isTs9EShMu9c1ZbXtBs_cN_612453PqHOCTUA_aem__jaMB84qcacbNbHehQnFcw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FindJodi.com<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Iowa and Wisconsin investigators still met up to re-examine Revak\u2019s possible connection to the TV anchor\u2019s disappearance in 2024, the website said.<\/p>\n<p>Degase told the outlet that despite the lack of evidence, he found Revak\u2019s connection to the case troubling.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a girlfriend that lived right around the corner from Jodi \u2026 That\u2019s the only connection we have to it. I\u2019ve done this for 32 years. I don\u2019t believe in coincidence,\u201d Degase said. <\/p>\n<p>Harm\u2019s family released a statement saying the loss of their daughter had \u201cshattered\u201d countless people. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst and foremost, words will never heal our hearts that have been forever broken, nor will they lessen the grief or the emptiness we feel every single day without her, the statement read. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo the person or people responsible for the death of our beloved Deidre Christine Harm, I want these words to be heard and felt. You did not just take a life; you shattered countless others.
