\n\tCharisma Carpenter<\/a> is hopeful that her\u00a0Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/a>\u00a0character will have the opportunity to return in the sequel series currently in development at Hulu.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview, the star said her character had an \u201cunjust\u201d ending on the Angel spinoff and it would be \u201cpoetic\u201d to return to the Buffy universe to make things right.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am so excited for fans, and I know it will be fantastic because of who\u2019s involved,\u201d Carpenter said in an interview with IGN<\/a>. \u201cTo see this actually happen for the fans makes me thrilled. I am so hopeful to be included, for Cordelia to be a part of this new iteration.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter\u2019s Cordelia was one of the OG characters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the first three seasons. She would continue portraying the role in the Angel spinoff for an additional four seasons before being killed off in Season 5.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know really what to make of it,\u201d Carpenter said of her character dying on the show. \u201cI\u2019m sure there are caveats \u2014 Cordelia died on Angel not on Buffy. I don\u2019t know what that means for Cordelia specifically \u2014 but I\u2019m hopeful that it includes Cordelia obviously, it would be a dream to be included, and it would just be so poetic for that to occur, and for it to occur with this group.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDeaths in the Buffy universe have not been a factor in reviving characters. Sarah Michelle Gellar\u2019s Buffy died and was brought back from the dead twice. Carpenter says that \u201cwriters are wildly creative\u201d and could find a way to bring Cordelia back somehow.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cListen, you\u2019re not gonna get an argument out of me,\u201d Carpenter added. \u201cBecause the way it went down for her was just \u2014 without using inflammatory language \u2014 just was not\u2026 she was built up so big, she\u2019d grown so much, she\u2019d had this remarkable journey, and for her to go out the way that she did just felt so unjust.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOscar winner Chlo\u00e9 Zhao, a self-professed lifelong Buffy fan, directs the pilot, written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (Poker Face).<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a recent interview, Gellar expressed her desire to bring back all the characters who died in the original series.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original,\u201d Gellar told Vanity Fair<\/a> in an interview at the Filming Italy Sardegna Festival. \u201cWe will try to find a balance between new and old characters.
