Novak Djokovic has left many questions unanswered ahead of the final few weeks of the 2025 season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Djokovic last competed at the Six Kings Slam<\/a>, where he lost to Jannik Sinner<\/a> and retired from his subsequent match with Taylor Fritz<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Soon after playing in Riyadh, Djokovic withdrew from the Paris Masters<\/a> as he continued his limited schedule at this latter stage of his career.<\/p>\n

Djokovic has only confirmed one tournament he will play<\/a> this year, and it is unclear whether he will also appear at the ATP Finals<\/a>, despite qualifying for the year-end event.<\/p>\n

Djokovic skipped the ATP Finals in 2024<\/a>, and many think that the 24-time Grand Slam champion will do the same again this year.<\/p>\n

One of those people with this opinion is John Isner<\/a>, who suggested that Djokovic<\/a> is gearing up for the 2026 season already, with just the ATP<\/a> 250 tournament in Athens on his radar this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think so. I hope I am wrong,\u201d Isner said on the Nothing Major podcast. \u201cI think everyone would love to see him in Turin. The fact that he has already qualified playing the schedule that he has played this year is just completely absurd at 38 years old and it needs mentioning again.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I don\u2019t think he\u2019s playing. He didn\u2019t play last year, he\u2019s pulled out of Paris. So it looks like the top nine in my estimation are getting in. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be a bit of a tough beat if you finished ninth and Novak decides to play. Last year he didn\u2019t and number nine got in. I don\u2019t think he is playing, I think he is gearing up for 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Isner is predicting Djokovic to withdraw from the ATP Finals, his compatriot and podcast co-host Sam Querrey<\/a> is expecting to see the Serbian in Turin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he is playing,\u201d said Querrey, disagreeing with Isner. \u201cShanghai it seemed like he was in a good mood. Maybe he goes to Turin and thinks I can beat Sinner or [Carlos] Alcaraz in two out of three. I think he is going to play, but you never know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Novak Djokovic could equal Roger Federer record if he plays the ATP Finals<\/p>\n

Djokovic has been very open about records being a big reason why he continues to compete at 38 years old, and there is an opportunity for him to match Roger Federer<\/a> at the ATP Finals this year.<\/p>\n

Federer has made more appearances than any other player at the ATP Finals in history (17), and Djokovic is just one behind that number.<\/p>\n

However, Djokovic does already hold a record over Federer at the ATP Finals, as after winning his seventh title at the tournament in 2023, he overtook his rival at the top of the record books.<\/p>\n

Djokovic could have equalled the appearance record at the ATP Finals last year and chose not to, which suggests that is not something he is too bothered about.<\/p>\n
