{"id":339641,"date":"2025-10-29T01:40:12","date_gmt":"2025-10-29T01:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/339641\/"},"modified":"2025-10-29T01:40:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-29T01:40:12","slug":"san-antonios-isidore-nicosi-and-mixtli-restaurants-win-big-at-michelin-guide-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/339641\/","title":{"rendered":"San Antonio&#8217;s Isidore, Nicosi and Mixtli restaurants win big at Michelin Guide awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HOUSTON\u2014 San Antonio expanded its rising culinary profile with Michelin one-star awards for Mixtli, Isidore and Nicosi at the second annual Texas <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.michelin.com\/us\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michelin Guide<\/a> ceremony Tuesday night in Houston.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/restaurantmixtli.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mixtli<\/a>, the much-acclaimed Mexican restaurant in Southtown, earned a second Michelin star while Pullman Market\u2019s Isidore and Nicosi each won their first star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/klCCXNiwgwQ?si=Szrn_6RXPqPaOcp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at the Wortham Theater Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Isidore chefs Danny Parada and Ian Lanphear also won a Green Star Award for sustainable and eco-friendly practices.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/guide.michelin.com\/us\/en\/article\/features\/what-is-a-michelin-star\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Michelin star<\/a> is awarded to restaurants that use \u201ctop quality ingredients, where dishes with distinct flavours are prepared to a consistently high standard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Five San Antonio restaurants garnered <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.michelin.com\/us\/en\/article\/features\/the-bib-gourmand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Gourmand<\/a> recognition, four of whom were repeat winners: Cullum\u2019s Attaboy, Ladino, The Jerk Shack and Southerleigh Fine Food &amp; Brewery. Credit: Bria Woods \/ San Antonio Report<\/p>\n<p>Just outside of the city in Seguin, Burnt Bean Co. won its second Bib Gourmand.<\/p>\n<p>The award, named after the Michelin Man mascot, Bibendum, is given for great food at \u201creasonable\u201d prices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Michelin did not include \u201crecommended\u201d restaurants in its guide this year. In 2024, seven local establishments earned a recommended designation: 2M Smokehouse, Leche de Tigre, Signature, Barbecue Station, Garcia\u2019s Mexican Food, Nicosi and Little Em\u2019s Oyster Bar.<\/p>\n<p>Founded by a French tire company in 1900 to encourage travel, the Michelin Guide expanded its \u201clIttle red book\u201d to include hotels and restaurants.
