Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went where few have gone against Shohei Ohtani<\/a> this season. <\/p>\n

The Blue Jays slugger smashed a two-run homer off the Dodgers two-way superstar in the third inning of Game 4 of the World Series on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

With Nathan Lukes on first base, Guerrero jumped all over a sweeper that was hung over the middle of the plate, sending it over the left field wall to put the Blue Jays up 2-1. <\/p>\n

Ohtani had not allowed a home run in either of his two previous postseason starts this year. In fact, he had not yielded a dinger at all in over two months. <\/p>\n

The three-time MVP is in the midst of an incredible postseason that saw him hit three homers \u2014 including one of out Dodger Stadium<\/a> \u2014 in the NLCS during a start in which he recorded 10 strikeouts on the mound. He added another incredible line to his resume on Monday when he homered twice and reached base nine times in an 18-inning win<\/a>. In the game, he was intentionally walked four times. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Game 4 marks Ohtani\u2019s first-ever World Series start, as he was playing solely as a DH in 2024 as he recovered from elbow surgery during the Dodgers\u2019 run to beat the Yankees.<\/p>\n

As for Guerrero, he now has seven long balls and 14 RBIs this postseason, with his average above .400.<\/p>\n
