As the 2025 college football season turns the calendar to November, the Heisman Trophy<\/strong> race is heating up as several leading candidates continue to separate themselves on the field. That includes three quarterbacks \u2014 Alabama\u2019s Ty Simpson<\/a><\/strong>, Indiana\u2019s Fernando Mendoza<\/a><\/strong> and Ohio State\u2019s Julian Sayin<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 distinguising themselves as the odds-on Heisman favorites while establishing their programs as serious College Football Playoff<\/strong> national championship contenders. <\/p>\n

The Heisman Trophy field tightened even more after a wild Week 9 slate that saw several star QBs fall out of contention with nine total players receiving +3000 or better odds entering Week 10, according to BetMGM<\/a>. As usual, quarterbacks dominate the latest Heisman Trophy<\/strong> odds, though Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love does crack the list with the seventh-best odds through nine weeks.<\/p>\n

Simpson is a revelation in his first year as Alabama\u2019s QB1, establishing himself as a leading Heisman Trophy candidate by directing the Crimson Tide\u2019s turnaround following a season-opening loss at FSU. That included throwing for 253 yards and two scores while direcring Alabama\u2019s 29-22 road win over South Carolina in Columbia.<\/p>\n

The Tide\u2019s redshirt sophomore QB has been electric this season and currently leads the SEC with 20 touchdowns to just one interception while also ranking second in the league with a 162.63 QB rating and 2,184 passing yards on 67.8-percent passing this season.<\/p>\n

Mendoza continues to turn heads and open eyes with every game he plays for Indiana, including contributing four touchdowns and 213 total yards in last Saturday\u2019s 56-6 rout of visiting UCLA on Saturday in Bloomington.<\/p>\n

The Hoosiers\u2019 junior QB has been spectacular in his first season at Indiana, and currently leads college football with 24 passing touchdowns to just three interceptions. Mendoza\u2019s 188.54 QB rating also ranks second nationally, just behind the quarterback with BetMGM\u2019s third-best odds.<\/p>\n

The Buckeyes were on bye in Week 9, but that didn\u2019t have any impact on Sayin\u2019s Heisman Trophy odds, which held pat at +400 thanks in large part to his outstanding efficiency through the first eight weeks.<\/p>\n

Ohio State\u2019s redshirt freshman QB leads all college football with a NCAA-best 80.0 completion percentage, including completing 85.7-percent while throwing for a season-high 393 yards and four touchdowns in Week 8\u2019s 34-0 rout of host Wisconsin two weeks ago.<\/p>\n

BetMGM\u2019s biggest climber this week is Reed, who leapfrogs into the Top 5 in the Heisman Trophy race after combining for 310 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in leading the third-ranked Aggies to a 49-25 win at No. 20 LSU on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Texas A&M\u2019s talented dual-threat sophomore QB has been spectacular in his first full season as the Aggies\u2019 starter, ranking third in the SEC averaging 290.1 yards of total offense per game. Reed has been on a tear of late with 916 total yards and 10 total touchdowns over the past three games.<\/p>\n

For the second straight season, Pavia has been the talk of the SEC while leading the No. 9 Commodores to a transformative season in 2025. That includes directing a one-loss Vanderbilt to a pair of Top 15 wins over LSU and Missouri in back-to-back weeks.<\/p>\n

Pavia has struggled somewhat as a passer in SEC play, including completing a season-low 52.6-percent of his passes in last weekend\u2019s 17-10 win over Missouri, but he remains one of the SEC\u2019s most explosive players ranking fifth in the league averaging 7.51 yards per play in his sixth season of collegiate eligibility.<\/p>\n

The first-year Bulldogs starter saw his odds fall slightly during Georgia\u2019s bye week, but Stockton remains in the thick of both the Heisman and SEC race as a throwback of sorts with 17 total touchdowns, including seven rushing to tie for the league lead among quarterbacks. <\/p>\n

Despite being on bye last week, Stockton remains one of the SEC\u2019s most efficient QBs and still currently leads the league with a 70.5 completion percentage to go along with 1,553 passing yards and 10 touchdowns to just one interception through seven games this season.<\/p>\n

The Fighting Irish\u2019s leading rusher is the highest-rated non-quarterback on BetMGM\u2019s latest odds ranking with the seventh-best odds to win the 2025 Heisman Trophy. Love currently ranks 10th nationally with 758 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground through seven games this season.<\/p>\n

Despite being on bye last weekend, Love is coming off his best game this season after tallying a season-high 228 rushing yards on 24 carries and one touchdown in Notre Dame\u2019s 34-24 win over a Top 25-ranked USC on Oct. 18.<\/p>\n

Despite beginning the season as the Rebels\u2019 backup, Chambliss has quickly established himself as one of the SEC\u2019s top playmakers since taking over as Ole Miss\u2019 QB1 with preseason starter Austin Simmons still somewhat limited by a nagging injury. <\/p>\n

An offseason transfer from Division II national champion Ferris State<\/strong>, Chambliss has been especially explosive through the air averaging more than 300 passing yards per game with 13 combined touchdowns across the Rebels\u2019 last six games with him as the starter. <\/p>\n
