Sting<\/a> will soon be an Englishman in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

The “Every Breath You Take” singer will headline a Super Bowl-branded concert<\/a> on Feb. 6 at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, the NFL’s hospitality provider, On Location, announced Tuesday. The concert will take place two days before the Super Bowl kicks off at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Feb. 8.<\/p>\n

Sting’s set will be part of the broader Super Bowl LX Studio 60 event, described as “a weekend of unforgettable music entertainment at one of San Francisco’s most iconic venues” on the On Location website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Further details about the concert are scarce, though the promoter’s website promises “meet and greet opportunities with NFL legends and current players” alike. Additionally, a second night of Studio 60 festivities will occur in the same location the following evening on Feb. 7, though no performers have been announced for night 2. Tickets for Sting’s show start at $750 apiece.<\/p>\n

The news comes in the wake of unusually intense criticism of the Super Bowl halftime show, which will be headlined by Bad Bunny<\/a>. The NFL’s decision to hire the “DtMF” musician elicited harsh reactions from conservative political figures, including House Speaker Mike Johnson<\/a>, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem<\/a>, and even President Donald Trump<\/a> himself.<\/p>\n

Despite the controversy, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell defended the decision to hire Bad Bunny last week, opining that he’s “confident it’s going to be a great show” in February.<\/p>\n

“I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback or criticism,” Goodell said. “I think it’s going to be exciting and a united moment.”<\/p>\n

Sting previously performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2003, coheadlining the event with Shania Twain and No Doubt. That performance concluded with Sting performing his Police hit “Message in a Bottle” alongside Gwen Stefani and her bandmates.<\/p>\n

Sting isn’t the only music superstar headlining a major concert in the Bay Area during Super Bowl weekend. Earlier this month, the Bay Area Host Committee \u2014 which is not affiliated with the NFL \u2014 announced<\/a> that country star Chris Stapleton will perform at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Feb. 7, the night before the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
