Coronation Street’s growing animosity between Tracy McDonald and Cassie Plummer becomes a full-on feud next week. Tracy plays a cruel trick on her enemy, but this leads Cassie to hit back. With neither of the two ladies known for holding back, could this dispute spiral totally out of control and leave other Weatherfield residents caught in the crossfire?<\/p>\n

“With Cassie spending more and more time at No.1, what little tolerance Tracy has for Steve’s new squeeze has fast run out,” our Corrie source warns.<\/p>\n

The week begins with Tracy further irked when there’s a delivery of wine for her father Ken Barlow from Cassie. Tracy rocks up at the cab office in the middle of Cassie’s first shift working on the switch, accusing her of sucking up to her dad. <\/p>\n

But before she leaves, Tracy takes the opportunity to secretly unplug the switch, potentially ruining Cassie’s first day on the job.<\/p>\n

With the pair soon at loggerheads, Cassie is surprised when Tracy suggests that they should end their feud. <\/p>\n

But Cassie soon sees through the uncharacteristically generous act, when it becomes clear that Tracy is hoping she’ll help her persuade Steve McDonald to withdraw his claim on Preston’s Petals in their divorce settlement.<\/p>\n

Sick of Tracy’s manipulations, Cassie sees her chance to get her own back as she returns to No.1 to discover Tracy fast asleep after helping herself to one of the bottles of wine Cassie bought for Ken.<\/p>\n

“Cassie’s not going to look this gift horse in the mouth,” our spy continues. “What is she up to \u2013 and will her actions see all-out war declared?”<\/p>\n

Tracy moved back to Weatherfield on a permanent basis earlier this year, which coincided with the breakdown of her relationship with footballer-turned-coach Tommy Orpington.<\/p>\n

Matt Milburn, who played Tommy, recently spoke about the possibility<\/a> of his character’s relationship with Tracy being explored again in the future.<\/p>\n

“There’s room for Tommy to come back! He’s not been killed off. Corrie for me, it’s up there as one of the top jobs. For me personally, it’s perfect,” Matt told Soap Scoop<\/a>, the weekly podcast from Inside Soap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“You know, I’m a Manc. My family’s from Manchester, it’s filmed in Manchester. Logistically it’s always been great for me as well. I get to see all my family whilst I’m there doing filming.<\/p>\n

“It’s such an iconic show and I think if you’re an actor from the north, particularly my age as you’ve grown up with Corrie, I think you’d be mad if it wasn’t on your bucket list of jobs to do.<\/p>\n

“I’m really thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to go there and be given a role on it. You never know \u2013 there might be a window to come back in the future. Who knows?”<\/p>\n
