And while over the summer, owner Shigefumi Kabashima closed their Harlem cocktail bar and restaurant ROKC, luckily, they merged some of its menu here. The result is a dining and drinking space that is highly reminiscent of being in Japan.

The cocktails are way more fancy than the food, such as the Indigo Negroni ($18). The menu makes ordering approachable by offering taste scales for each drink, ranging from booziness to fruitiness to smokiness. That drink was a clarified cocktail made with grapefruit that was of a high-medium booziness, low-medium bitterness, and high elegance, all of which were appropriate notes.

The dishes are large, so there’s enough to take home for leftovers — especially the soup curry.

Upper East Side restaurant NR has been churning out excellent Japanese dishes since it opened in late 2019.…

[5122
5229,141333,405,403,5226,5225,5228,5227,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-341500","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-dining-report","10":"tag-new-york","11":"tag-new-york-city","12":"tag-newyork","13":"tag-newyorkcity","14":"tag-ny","15":"tag-nyc","16":"tag-united-states","17":"tag-united-states-of-america","18":"tag-unitedstates","19":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","20":"tag-us","21":"tag-usa
["GET
