{"id":34220,"date":"2025-07-03T03:00:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T03:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/34220\/"},"modified":"2025-07-03T03:00:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T03:00:08","slug":"high-bacteria-levels-reported-at-la-county-beaches-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/34220\/","title":{"rendered":"High bacteria levels reported at LA County beaches \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As beachgoers plan their Fourth of July outings, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health advised people to avoid ocean waters at eight area beaches due to high bacteria levels.<\/p>\n<p>The affected beaches are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Avalon Beach at Catalina Island, 50 feet west of the pier, and the Step Beach swim area east of the Casino arch;<\/li>\n<li>Santa Monica Beach, Santa Monica North Tower 12 and 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/li>\n<li>Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier;<\/li>\n<li>The Bel Air Bay Club at Will Rogers State Beach, 100 yards up and down coast from the club border fence;<\/li>\n<li>Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey, entire swim area;<\/li>\n<li>Castlerock Storm Drain at Topanga County Beach, 100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain;<\/li>\n<li>Santa Monica Pier, 100 yards up and down the coast from the pier; and<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Inner Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro, entire swim area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meanwhile, an earlier warning has been lifted for Venice Beach (windward storm drain), where recent samples produced water-quality levels within state standards, the health department said.<\/p>\n<p>Recorded information on beach conditions is available 24 hours a day on the county&#8217;s beach closure hotline, 1 800-525-5662.
