When Hilary Duff finally drops her new album<\/a>, will there be a song on there about her lost friendship with Frankie Muniz? On a September episode of The Joe Vulpis Podcast<\/a>, Muniz claimed Duff\u2019s mother came between them by maneuvering to get Duff cast as the romantic lead in Agent Cody Banks. \u201cWe were best friends from 12, 13 years old until then,\u201d he told \u201cPage Six<\/a>\u201d on October 29, following up on his podcast appearance. <\/p>\n It began when Muniz guest-starred on Duff\u2019s Disney Channel show in 2002. \u201cI was on the set of\u00a0Lizzie McGuire,\u00a0and I was in Hilary\u2019s dressing room and her mom was there,\u201d he said on the podcast. Duff\u2019s mom asked what Muniz was working on that summer. \u201cAnd I go, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m filming this movie where I\u2019m playing like a junior James Bond.\u2019\u201d Muniz says Mama Duff got Hilary cast as Natalie Connors by the next morning. (He\u2019d wanted Smallville\u2019s Kristin Kreuk for the part.) \u201cNeedless to say, I wasn\u2019t thrilled about it. And not because I didn\u2019t want it to be Hilary,\u201d he continued. \u201cI don\u2019t know how much I want to say.
