It features a sunken living room, where Strouse hosted readings while workshopping projects. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also where visitors included Jay-Z, Arthur Miller, Harry Connick Jr. and Jason Alexander, said his\u00a0son Ben Strouse, who is\u00a0one of Charles\u2019 four children with the late actress\/director\/choreographer Barbara Simon Strouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Charles Strouse. Nathan Patrick Media<\/p>\n<p>Strouse\u2019s music was recorded by Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Duke Ellington and Jay-Z, who\u00a0featured music from Broadway\u2019s\u00a0\u201cAnnie\u201d on his 1998 hit song, \u201cHard Knock Life.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a lot of memories there,\u201d Ben said. \u201cIt was the place for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We were the Jews who had a Christmas tree by the fire with my parents, my siblings and all our kids. It was really like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 19th-floor residence is a combo of a three- to four-bedroom unit and a one-bedroom apartment that can function as a guest\/staff suite with its own separate kitchen. The layout features high ceilings, hardwood floors and stunning views of the city skyline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The home opens through a gallery that leads to a living room with a woodburning fireplace and city views.
