IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>Florida and LSU became two of the biggest openings <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/29\/sports\/gov-jeff-landry-id-let-trump-pick-lsus-next-coach-before-ad-scott-woodward\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">after firing Billy Napier and Brian Kelly<\/a>, respectively, in recent weeks. <\/p>\n<p>Kiffin is in his sixth season with Ole Miss and has led the program to a 7-1 record to start this year.<\/p>\n<p>The Rebels are No. 7 in the current rankings. <\/p>\n<p>Nick Saban echoed Thamel\u2019s sentiment, though he questioned if making a move to Florida or LSU would be the best idea for Kiffin. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5147929;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"37534073\" width=\"894\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/ole-miss-rebels-head-coach-114181265.jpg\" alt=\"Lane Kiffin\" class=\"wp-image-37534073\"  \/>Lane Kiffin is in his sixth season with Ole Miss.  IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLane is the first name up for Florida and the first name up for LSU,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/news\/is-lsu-the-best-job-in-america-nick-saban-says-it-depends-on-how-much-money-you-can-spend-on-the-roster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Saban told On3<\/a>. \u201cBut I think you can have a long debate on whether either one of those jobs is actually better than the job he has now because he has some guys over there at Ole Miss that give him pretty much whatever he wants from a roster standpoint. He may not necessarily have the same thing at Florida or LSU. So you look at these jobs differently now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, maybe you got facilities. Maybe you got money. Maybe you\u2019ve got alumni who are passionate about football, but are they willing to invest now to win?
