{"id":344513,"date":"2025-10-31T01:59:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T01:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/344513\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T01:59:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T01:59:09","slug":"urho-vaakanainen-tells-the-post-about-his-new-rangers-reality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/344513\/","title":{"rendered":"Urho Vaakanainen tells The Post about his new Rangers reality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EDMONTON \u2014 Aside from a few healthy scratches, Urho Vaakanainen became a regular on the Rangers\u2019 back end after his arrival <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/07\/sports\/urho-vaakanainen-thrilled-to-join-rangers-after-jacob-trouba-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as part of last December\u2019s trade<\/a> that sent Jacob Trouba to Anaheim.<\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old Finn even filled in on the second pairing when Adam Fox was injured but primarily skated on the third defensive pair with Braden Schneider during his first season with the Rangers.<\/p>\n<p>Just seven games into the 2025-26 campaign, however, Vaakanainen <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/10\/23\/sports\/rangers-prospects-not-standing-out-for-nhl-call-ups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lost his spot in the top six<\/a> to rookie Matthew Robertson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, it\u2019s never fun to be scratched,\u201d Vaakanainen told The Post on Wednesday after practice. \u201cBut, you know, it\u2019s a long season. Can\u2019t really take it personally; coaches decide. You got to go with it. Obviously, Robo played really well so.
