According to a report in Spain relayed by Football365<\/a>, United have \u201ctaken the lead\u201d in the race for Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n Wharton has established himself as one of the Premier League\u2019s most reliable midfielders with the ball at his feet.<\/p>\n The technically gifted Englishman demands the ball in tight spaces and frequently uses his technical prowess and passing range to get Oliver Glasner\u2019s side out of trouble and higher up the field.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 21-year-old\u2019s composure and passing range have also caught the attention of Real.<\/p>\n Man United overtake Real Madrid in Wharton race<\/p>\n However, the report claims United have \u201cshocked Real Madrid management\u201d by taking the lead for the Palace midfield gem.\u00a0<\/p>\n Further, the Premier League giants are thought to be \u201cworking on an offer of 70 million euros (\u00a361.5m)\u201d to strike an agreement with the Eagles next year.
