{"id":344954,"date":"2025-10-31T06:29:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T06:29:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/344954\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T06:29:17","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T06:29:17","slug":"apple-earnings-recap-revenue-tops-estimates-china-sales-decline","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/344954\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Earnings Recap: Revenue Tops Estimates, China Sales Decline"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hot off its historic jump to a <a target=\"\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/markets.businessinsider.com\/news\/stocks\/apple-stock-price-market-cap-iphone-17-nvidia-microsoft-ai-2025-10\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">$4 trillion market cap<\/a>, Apple delivered an earnings beat after the closing bell \u2014 but its struggles in China continue.<\/p>\n<p>While Apple&#8217;s revenue grew 8% year over year to $102.5 billion, beating estimates, and EPS grew 13% year over year to $1.85, sales in China decreased from the year-ago period, missing estimates.<\/p>\n<p>Apple&#8217;s cash cow, the iPhone, generated $49.02 billion in revenue, slightly missing Wall Street&#8217;s estimates of $49.33 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The stock dipped 3% immediately following the results before ticking up 5% after hours.<\/p>\n<p>In a call with analysts, Apple said it planned to increase its capex spending in the holiday quarter, driven by expanding AI investments \u2014 <a target=\"\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/big-tech-capex-spending-ai-earnings-2025-10\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">a theme in Big Tech earnings this quarter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are increasing our investments in AI while also continuing to invest in our product road map,&#8221; CFO Kevan Parekh said.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Tim Cook said he expected China revenue to return to growth in the holiday quarter, and that a supply constraint drove the 4% year-over-year decline in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Cook said Apple is &#8220;making good progress&#8221; on its overhauled <a target=\"\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/why-apple-siri-update-delay-ai-features-2025-6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Siri<\/a>, which has faced delays, and he expects it to launch next year.<\/p>\n<p>The iPhone 17, which had only had about a week of sales recorded in the quarterly numbers released, is &#8220;resonating around the world,&#8221; Cook said.<\/p>\n<p>Looking to the holiday quarter, Apple&#8217;s CFO said the company expects total revenue to increase 10-12% year over year \u2014 higher than Wall Street analysts expected \u2014 and iPhone sales to grow double digits.
