{"id":345261,"date":"2025-10-31T09:35:25","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T09:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/345261\/"},"modified":"2025-10-31T09:35:25","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T09:35:25","slug":"significant-rainfall-warning-issued-as-metro-vancouver-prepares-for-halloween-deluge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/345261\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Significant&#8217; rainfall warning issued as Metro Vancouver prepares for Halloween deluge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hopefully, your Halloween costume is waterproof this year, because Metro Vancouver is in for a very wet end to October.<\/p>\n<p>According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a moisture-laden frontal system is pushing onto the B.C. coast beginning the morning of Friday, Oct. 31 and continuing throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p>Significant rainfall is expected for parts of Metro Vancouver, with up to 50 to 80 mm falling in the North Shore (including West Vancouver and North Vancouver) as well as in the Northeast part of the region (including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge).<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Vancouver rain\" title=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"525\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" class=\"size-large wp-image-2107877\" style=\"color:transparent\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Vancouver-rain-1024x525.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2107877\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">LeonWang\/Shutterstock<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRainfall is expected to begin Friday morning and intensify through the afternoon,\u201d said ECCC in the weather alert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRain, at times heavy, can be expected into Friday evening when the precipitation will begin to taper off to a few showers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ECCC also warned that water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas, and that visibility could be suddenly reduced at times.
