\n\tNetflix<\/a> has released the official full trailer for Stranger Things<\/a>\u2018 final season.<\/p>\n

\n\tBelow is the new footage for season five of the Netflix coming-of-age sci-fi smash. The official trailer is nearly three minutes long and is stuffed with bombastic special effects, intense emotion (a lot of tears), plenty of action and one mean Vecna.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe kind of hit the ground running right away this season, which is really exciting and not how we\u2019ve started any other season,\u201d said Noah Schnapp, who plays Will, in a statement from Netflix. \u201cEveryone is all in one place and we all have the same objective.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThey\u2019re not experiencing normal life,\u201d added co-creator Matt Duffer. \u201cNothing in Hawkins is normal anymore \u2026 their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere. So not only are they active \u2014 their everyday, normal lives are anything but.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMillie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, teased that her character is in \u201ctraining mode\u201d at the start of the season. \u201cShe\u2019s in a warrior state,\u201d she said. \u201cAs for her mindset, all she is thinking about is protecting her friends. Her friends are her chosen family, so she will do whatever it takes to protect them and we\u2019re going to see that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new season will be released in three parts, all around holiday weekends: Volume 1 on Nov. 26 (consisting of four episodes), Volume 2 on Christmas (three episodes) and The Finale on New Year\u2019s Eve. Each will drop at 5 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tHere\u2019s the official description of the new season: \u201cThe fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished \u2014 his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will\u2019s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming \u2014 and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they\u2019ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they\u2019ll need everyone \u2014 the full party \u2014 standing together, one last time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in January, co-creator Ross Duffer said about the final episodes, \u201cWe spent a full year filming this season. By the end, we\u2019d captured over 650 hours of footage. So, needless to say, this is our biggest and most ambitious season yet. It\u2019s like eight blockbuster movies. It\u2019s pretty insane.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCo-creator Matt Duffer\u00a0added, \u201cAt the same time, we think it\u2019s our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film, for us and for our actors. We\u2019ve been making this show together for almost 10 years. There was a lot of crying. There was\u00a0so\u00a0much crying. The show means so much to all of us, and everyone put their hearts and souls into it. And we hope \u2014 and believe \u2014 that passion will translate to the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn November, Netflix announced the\u00a0season five episode titles<\/a>\u00a0to tease the story arc of the season: \u201cThe Crawl,\u201d \u201cThe Vanishing of [censored for now],\u201d \u201cThe Turnbow Trap,\u201d \u201cSorcerer,\u201d \u201cShock Jock,\u201d \u201cEscape From Camazotz,\u201d \u201cThe Bridge\u201d and \u201cThe Rightside Up.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe creators have also previously teased upcoming projects<\/a> in the\u00a0Stranger Things\u00a0universe.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere are more\u00a0Stranger Things\u00a0stories to tell and in the works,\u201d Matt said. \u201cIt\u2019s a bit early at this point to talk about them, but we\u2019re deeply involved in every one \u2014 it\u2019s very important to us that anything with the\u00a0Stranger Things\u00a0name on it is of the highest quality and not repetitive \u2014 that it has a reason to exist and always blazes its own path. And also, it needs to basically just be \u2026 awesome. Or we need to think it\u2019s awesome. And there are a lot of what we think are awesome things in the pipeline.\u201d<\/p>\n
