Attention, Stranger Things fans<\/a>, this is not a drill! Netflix dropped the official full-length trailer for the final season on Thursday, previewing the gang\u2019s final battle with Vecna.<\/p>\n

This season, the crew faces a massive challenge as Vecna unleashes new nightmares against them while Hawkins is under military quarantine.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re not experiencing normal life. Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore \u2026 their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere,\u201d the show\u2019s cocreator Matt Duffer told Tudum<\/a>. \u201cSo not only are they active \u2014 their everyday, normal lives are anything but.\u201d<\/p>\n

The stakes have been turned upside down for the fifth and final season. Watch the trailer here:<\/p>\n

Show cocreator Ross Duffer told Tudum, \u201cI think what’s unique about this season is that it starts a little bit in chaos because our heroes ultimately lost at the end of Season 4.\u201d He added that \u201cwe usually set up their normal life and how they\u2019re going about school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season is sprinting from the start.\u201d<\/p>\n

The final season of Stranger Things will be released on Netflix across three premiere dates, which coincide with the holidays.<\/p>\n

    The streaming service previously announced that the two-hour finale titled \u201cThe Rightside Up\u201d will also be released on New Year\u2019s Eve in over 350 theaters<\/a> in the U.S. and Canada. Netflix<\/a> said it would announce more information on how fans can attend the theater screenings, as well as specific locations, later this year.<\/p>\n

    Here\u2019s the official synopsis of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things: \u201cThe fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished \u2014 his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will\u2019s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming \u2014 and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they\u2019ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they\u2019ll need everyone \u2014 the full party \u2014 standing together, one last time.\u201d<\/p>\n
