LYNWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — Community members in Lynwood gathered to remember a 7-year-old boy who was found dead inside a freezer<\/a> at his family’s apartment.<\/p>\n

Candles, flowers and stuffed animals now line the sidewalk on Euclid Avenue. Neighbors gathered just steps away from the crime scene Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

One woman who lives near the boy’s apartment told ABC7 off-camera in Spanish that the boy’s murder makes her physically ill.<\/p>\n

Other neighbors said they’re heartbroken.<\/p>\n

“This shouldn’t happen in our community. And I always say if you can’t handle the kids, find some help. Our kids shouldn’t suffer,” said Maria Landeros. “How could someone do this to a child?”<\/p>\n

A mother was arrested for murder after a 7-year-old child was found dead inside a freezer at an apartment in Lynwood, Eyewitness News has learned.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles County deputies arrived to the victim’s home Tuesday evening after a 911 caller reported a dead child.<\/p>\n

When they entered the apartment, they allegedly found the 7-year-old’s body in the freezer. It’s unclear how long the child had been dead, or how long they were in the freezer. That remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

Three additional children, ages 16, 13 and 9 months, were also found at the scene and taken into protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.<\/p>\n

The child’s mother, father and grandmother were arrested, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.<\/p>\n

Based on the preliminary investigation, the child’s mother, 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, was arrested for murder. The father, 25-year-old Daniel Monzon, and grandmother, 46-year-old Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, were arrested for conspiracy to commit murder, the sheriff’s department said. Bail was set at $2 million each.<\/p>\n

They could appear in court for the first time on Friday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, community members just want to know why the child was murdered.<\/p>\n

“He was a young boy. He was supposed to be protected by him. We got to take care of our kids,” said a woman named Rosie.<\/p>\n
