\n\tAs HBO<\/a> and returning showrunner Issa L\u00f3pez<\/a> gear up for another season of True Detective<\/a>, Woody Harrelson<\/a> is retiring Det. Marty Hart.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 3x Oscar nominee recently shut down hopes that he will reunite with Season 1 co-star and longtime pal Matthew McConaughey<\/a> for another round of the prestige anthology crime drama after they launched the show in 2014.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMatthew\u2019s so funny In fairness, never. No chance,\u201d he said on 3rd Hour of Today after McConaughey teased the possiblity.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBecause it turned out great,\u201d added Harrelson. I love that it turned out the way it did, and if anything, doing another season would, I think, tarnish that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCreated by Nic Pizzolatto<\/a>, Season 1 of True Detective followed Detectives Marty Hart and Rust Cohle (McConaughey) as they investigate the murder of Dora Lange from 1995 to 2002, before new evidence forces them to revisit the case 10 years later as it may be connected to a series of unsolved murders.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Pizzolatto said that both actors were \u201copen\u201d to reprising their roles<\/a> and he has \u201canother story\u201d in mind for them, McConaughey said they were \u201ckeen on the idea but it\u2019s nothing more than an idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf Nic puts something on paper that Woody and I think is good enough, it wouldn\u2019t even be a choice,\u201d he told NME<\/a>. \u201cWe would look at it and go, \u2018it must happen.\u2019 It\u2019s gotta be damn good though because we set a pretty good precedent!\u201d<\/p>\n
