Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency in response to a potential lapse in SNAP benefits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In an executive order signed Friday, Oct. 31, Gov. Beshear directed that an initial $5 million, sourced from the budget reserve trust fund, be disbursed to Feeding Kentucky food banks. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><b>[READ FULL EXECUTIVE ORDER BELOW]<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Feeding Kentucky\u2019s food banks provide food and groceries in 120 counties, and reach an estimated one in seven Kentuckians annually, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kentucky.gov\/Pages\/Activity-stream.aspx?n=GovernorBeshear&amp;prId=2618\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kentucky.gov\/Pages\/Activity-stream.aspx?n=GovernorBeshear&amp;prId=2618\">press release<\/a> from Gov.
