Among them, nearly 205,000 voted in person, and about 7,000 voted by mail. In 2024, there were just over 2.6 million registered voters in Harris County. <\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/10\/21\/533910\/2025-election-harris-county-houston-whats-on-the-ballot\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Here is what&#8217;s on the November 2025 ballot in Harris County<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Early voting turnout was lower than the last comparable election in Harris County, which was in November 2023. More than 239,000 voters cast ballots during early voting that year. <\/p>\n<p>The 2023 ballot was similar to this year\u2019s, with 14 state propositions and several municipal elections, including races for Houston mayor and city council. This year\u2019s ballot has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/10\/15\/533488\/your-guide-to-all-of-texas-proposed-constitutional-amendments-on-the-ballot-this-november\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution<\/a> along with local municipal elections, although only one Houston City Council seat is on the ballot \u2014 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/09\/12\/530787\/meet-the-special-election-candidates-running-for-a-houston-city-council-at-large-seat\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special election<\/a> to fill the seat being vacated by at-large council member <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/2025\/07\/08\/525895\/houston-city-council-member-letitia-plummer-announces-run-for-harris-county-judge\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Letitia Plummer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The most high-profile race on the ballot is a special election to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/10\/16\/533494\/special-election-18th-congressional-district-christian-menefee-amanda-edwards-hobby-poll\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">complete the term<\/a> of late U.S. Rep. Sylvester Turner in Texas\u2019 18th Congressional District, which includes large swaths of Houston.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/10\/01\/532396\/how-to-vote-in-november-2025-harris-county-election\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">How to vote in the November 2025 election in Harris County<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here were the top early voting locations in Harris County, in terms of turnout:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Metropolitan MultiService Center in Houston&#8217;s Montrose neighborhood:<\/strong> 11,223 ballots cast<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Juergens Hall Community Center in Cypress:<\/strong> 8,708 ballots cast <\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Richard and Meg Weekley Community Center in Cypress:<\/strong> 8,540 ballots cast <\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Prairie View A&amp;M University Northwest located in northwest Houston:<\/strong> 6,453 ballots cast<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Freeman Branch Library in southeast Houston:<\/strong> 6,076 ballots cast <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Three of the five most-visited early voting locations are located within Cy-Fair ISD, which has a contentious school board election. The state\u2019s third-largest school district has three trustee positions on the ballot as politically conservative school board members are looking to maintain their 6-1 advantage. <\/p>\n<p><b>RELATED: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/politics\/elections\/2025\/10\/30\/534688\/cy-fair-school-board-election-conservative-policies-greg-abbott\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Cy-Fair ISD&#8217;s trustee election could be a referendum on conservative policies in suburban schools<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One of the top five locations, Prairie View A&amp;M University Northwest, and several of the top 10 polling locations are within Texas&#8217; 18th Congressional District. Sixteen candidates are vying to fill the seat vacated by Turner, who<a href=\"https:\/\/www.houstonpublicmedia.org\/articles\/news\/houston\/2025\/03\/05\/515275\/longtime-houston-mayor-sylvester-turner-dies-at-age-70-representatives-confirm\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> died in March<\/a> at the age of 70.<\/p>\n<p>There were 69 early voting locations across Harris County, and there will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.harrisvotes.com\/Vote-Centers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">576 polling locations<\/a> on Election Day.
