That’s a combination to keep the Rams’ state championship streak alive and well.

And top-seeded La Salle (16-0) did just that with a 4-1 triumph against Barrington under postcard skies on Saturday, Nov. 1, in Pawtucket. It’s La Salle’s 12th straight state title and 10th perfect season over that stretch. The Rams are one of the most dominant fall teams, across all sports, and added to their trophy case with a 17th girls tennis title overall.

Caroline Trask was first off the court for La Salle at No. 1 singles as the freshman captured a 6-0, 6-2 victory. She was as dominant as ever and, more importantly, the big stage didn’t get to her. Trask might have individual championships in her future – she reached the semifinals of the state tournament this year – and showed she’s ready to add to La Salle’s dynasty.

“This is amazing,” Trask said. “The team has worked so hard to be here, too. It’s truly a great moment to see everyone so happy.

“I knew if I didn’t pull through in my match, the team would have my back. I had so much faith in them the entire time.”

La Salle’s Sloane Ferrara was up next at No. 4 singles. The sophomore finished off a 6-4, 6-3 triumph to put the Rams ahead 2-0 and effectively ended Saturday’s match with a Rams win. La Salle wasn’t going to lose all three doubles matches after having each of its pairs reach the semifinal round of the doubles state tournament.

Ella Kozlik and Arianna Roye topped Alessandra Santoro and Brinley Freitas to reach the state doubles championship. And the tandem of Alessandra Roye and Elizabeth Vitale nearly beat the eventual winners from South Kingstown in the semifinals.

When all three teams were playing together this fall, it was an unstoppable force. And after Alessandra Roye and Vitale captured a 6-3, 6-3 victory on the second doubles court, La Salle was on the doorstep of a dozen years of dominance.

Kozlik and Arianna Roye, at third doubles, took the first set 6-3, and the second set tiebreaker, 7-6 (5), as Barrington’s final chance went long.

“It was a mixture of emotions,” Kozlik said of the final point. “We were happy and obviously crying, but we kept the waterworks in.”

“We’ve played in a lot of tie breaks this year, so I think it’s fitting that we ended on a bang with a tie break,” Roye said.

It doesn’t appear like La Salle’s run is going to end anytime soon. Trask is only a freshman, and Ferrara, Arianna Roye, Kozlik and No. 3 singles Holly Speranza are all sophomores. That also credits La Salle’s continued development of its tennis players under coach Tom Martin.

La Salle graduated a ton from last year’s lineup and didn’t miss a beat this fall.

“It’s both our first years on varsity,” Kozlik said. “We were both on junior varsity last year together, and doing as much as we did this year, it’s just amazing.”

The state will wait again to see if another program can end the dynasty. But this Saturday, and the 2025 season, was all Rams.

“I think we had the best season we could have possibly had,” Trask said. “Especially it being in my first season, I don’t think I could have started off any better. The team did so well. I’m so proud of them.”

La Salle 4, Barrington 1

Singles: Caroline Trask, LSA, def.
