{"id":349121,"date":"2025-11-02T00:09:19","date_gmt":"2025-11-02T00:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/349121\/"},"modified":"2025-11-02T00:09:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T00:09:19","slug":"explosion-rocks-harvard-medical-school-two-spotted-fleeing-at-time-of-detonation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/349121\/","title":{"rendered":"Explosion rocks Harvard Medical School, two spotted fleeing at time of detonation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An explosion rocked a Harvard Medical School building early Saturday morning,\u00a0while Boston police have now released surveillance footage of the two suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The unknown device exploded on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building on the Harvard Longwood Campus\u2019s main quad shortly before 3 a.m.,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecrimson.com\/article\/2025\/11\/2\/explosion-longwood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Harvard Crimson<\/a>\u00a0reported citing authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Two individuals were witnessed running out of the building at the time of the detonation, the outlet said, citing the Harvard University Police Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An unidentified device exploded on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building on the Harvard Longwood Campus\u2019s main quad shortly before 3 a.m. REUTERS<\/p>\n<p>An officer with the university failed in an attempt to stop them, before entering the building to check on the alarm, The Boston Globe\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/2025\/11\/01\/metro\/harvard-medical-school-intentional-explosion\/?p1=BGHeader_BreakingBar_Headline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Boston Police Department released surveillance images of the suspects on Saturday, NBC Boston\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcboston.com\/news\/local\/harvard-medical-school-explosion\/3837968\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Images showed two individuals wearing masks over their faces and hooded sweatshirts.<\/p>\n<p>The Boston Fire Department determined the explosion was intentional and conducted a sweep of the building which found no additional devices, according to the Crimson.<\/p>\n<p>Two individuals were seen running out of the building before the device went off. Boston PD<\/p>\n<p>No one was injured in the overnight explosion at Harvard. Boston PD<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>Sources familiar with the investigation told The Post the explosive device was not a bomb but declined to further detail the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation is at the scene as part of the investigation, The Crimson reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Boston Police Department and the FBI declined to comment.
