A man was attacked and threatened with a gun in front of his child during an armed robbery in broad daylight on Halloween in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.<\/p>\n
Around 3:16 p.m. Friday, a 42-year-old man was approached by three men on the 2600 block of South Emerald Avenue. One of the men pulled out a gun and pointed it at the 42-year-old man, police said. <\/p>\n
As the 42-year-old man attempted to leave, one of the suspects hit him in the face with the gun and demanded he give them his belongings, police said. <\/p>\n
The three suspects then fled with the man’s belongings in his vehicle, that was later recovered on the 300 block of South Maplewood. <\/p>\n
The man’s child was with him when the robbery occurred, according to Cook County Crime Stoppers. <\/p>\n
No suspects are in custody, police said. <\/p>\n
Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to their arrest. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis was a brazen attack that took place in broad daylight and endangered both an adult and a child. A child who should have been excited to go trick-or-treating, but instead witnessed the dad being robbed,” Paul Rutherford, Executive Director of Cook County Crime Stoppers, said in a statement. “We\u2019re asking the community to do the right thing. If you know something, take a step toward crime and call us or the police. Your information could help bring justice to the victims and make our neighborhoods safer.\u201d<\/p>\n
