There is absolutely nothing surprising about this. Disturbed<\/a> frontman David Draiman has been on some divisive bullshit for a little while now, and it\u2019s showing its wear and tear on the band more than he thought it ever would. Following their last tour stop at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland on October 28, Draiman announced that the band will be going on an indefinite hiatus. As of now, it\u2019s only supposed to be a hiatus from touring, not from releasing music.<\/p>\n

The frontman tweeted, \u201cNot sure when we will be headed back out. We all need a nice long break. Hope to see you when we do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Draiman\u2019s recent bullshit is the reason why. He\u2019s team IDF, having posted a pic back in June of him writing \u201cFuck Hamas\u201d on an IDF artillery shell. He and the band have gotten a lot of understandable shit for it since, from Draiman getting booed during his performance at \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d to having protesters clash with them outside that final show. And, because he\u2019s a big baby who doesn\u2019t know how to handle words (MetalSucks figured out he blocked us on Twitter because, baby) he responded to that whole situation in the worst way\u2014by commenting: \u201cHope your Jew hatred kept you guys warm lol.\u201d<\/p>\n

He doubled down on that, by adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I signed ONE artillery shell at an IDF base on the #Gaza border. I wrote FUCK #HAMAS on it. I meant it, and I\u2019d do it again. The insinuation that the one shell I signed had to have \u2018killed children\u2019 or \u2018killed innocents\/non combatants\u2019 is absolutlty [sic] asinine.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Because of all this, Disturbed\u2019s show in Brussels that was supposed to occur on October 15 was cancelled<\/a>, with the town\u2019s mayor Charles Spapens essentially deeming them \u201csecurity risks.\u201d Spapens called for a police order banning the band because \u201cthe show had become controversial because singer David Draiman is a strong supporter of the Israeli military.\u201d<\/p>\n

Disturbed responded to this with a statement on Instagram:<\/p>\n

\u201cMusic is where all our differences fade into the background. Music has the power to heal, to inspire and to bring people together, it\u2019s not about what divides us. We have always made it a point that at our shows ALL are welcome no matter what you believe. Everyone who comes to a Disturbed concert is accepted and loved. We are saddened that our fans in Belgium are not going to be able to share in this celebration of music.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

No one wants to celebrate y\u2019all, David. Go sit down somewhere, far away from the rest of us.<\/p>\n
