Ballet Folklorico Azteca de Fort Worth is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.star-telegram.com\/news\/local\/fort-worth\/article312162978.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:celebrating its 50th anniversary;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">celebrating its 50th anniversary<\/a> this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI think it\u2019s really important as a community to come together to celebrate our traditions and our culture,\u201d Vordokas said. \u201cAnd to just pass that on and show the community that we are alive. [The culture] is vibrant. Come out and join us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Folklorico dancing has become a multi-generational tradition in Vordokas\u2019 family. She has been dancing for decades, and her 15-year-old daughter has been dancing since she was 4.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI\u2019m really happy that she finds a home with the group that I found a home with,\u201d Vordokas said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For some walking along the route, the holiday has carried extra meaning in the past few years, as President Trump has focused his administration\u2019s efforts on immigration and deportation and made disparaging comments about Mexico.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cMexican culture is very beautiful \u2014 it\u2019s got so much color and flavor,\u201d said Roanoke resident Jessica Faz, a parent whose 13-year-old daughter is a dancer in Ballet Folklorico of Fort Worth. Foz\u2019 family immigrated to the United States from Mexico, but she was born in the United States. \u201cI want people to see that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">For
