It\u2019s set to follow \u201ca group of young travelers chasing the ultimate party on a European island until they discover the Hand, a supernatural high deadlier than any drug,\u201d per a press release, which also describes the show as \u201c\u2018Euphoria\u2019 with possession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe high-tech twist is that it\u2019s being created exclusively for Meta headsets and shot fully in 3D, making for a fully immersive XR experience that will allow horror fans to feel like they\u2019re living out the terror. \u201cThe live-action series will also harness cutting-edge mixed reality technology to map viewers\u2019 environments and immerse them in the story,\u201d the announcement details.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe series, which is officially set in the \u201cTalk to Me\u201d universe, was conceived from a pitch by Darren Brandl (\u201cThe Girl in the Woods\u201d) and Trent Atherton (\u201cThe Wheel\u201d). Atherton is writing the six episodes.<br \/>Director Craig William Macneill (\u201cThem,\u201d \u201cThe Terror,\u201d \u201cCastle Rock,\u201d \u201cWestworld\u201d) will helm all of the episodes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDanny and Michael Philippou\u2019s \u201cTalk to Me\u201d was a Sundance sensation, which sparked a bidding war and was a hit when A24 released it in 2022, becoming the company\u2019s highest-grossing horror release with over $90 million in worldwide box office returns. A feature sequel is currently in development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tExecutive producers include Darren Brandl and Jack Davis (for XRTV), the Philippous (for Racka Racka), Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton (for Causeway Films), Andreas Michael Wentz and Juan Antonio Cano Trujillo (for Sur Film), and Jeff Rich producing for Meta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe promise of XR is this idea that we can now map the story into your own space so you feel like you\u2019re inside it,\u201d Darren Brandl, the co-founder of XRTV, said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s a big leap past the previous 3D and immersive shows we\u2019ve produced, because now, the canvas is your living room. Its superpower is presence: that awe of being transported, the unsettling feeling that a demon is with you \u2014 in your room. \u2018Talk to Me\u2019 is the perfect immersive IP because it\u2019s about young adults who seek the Hand, to experience the euphoria of possession but end up tormented by breaking through to the spirit world. It made possession fun, and the scares unforgettable. Maybe we\u2019re crazy, but we\u2019re betting you\u2019re going to want to feel possessed too, and with Meta\u2019s new technology, we think for the first time you\u2019ll believe it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tXRTV is a new venture from Crypt TV co-founders Darren Brandl and Jack Davis, and will serve as a studio in association with original film producers Causeway Films and Racka Racka.
