In 2023, Poe <a class=\"transition-all duration-default shadow-internalLink hover:text-red-900\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theartnewspaper.com\/2023\/08\/14\/jeff-poe-stepping-down-blum-poe-gallery-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">left the gallery<\/a>, which was renamed to reflect the change.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">First reported by <a class=\"transition-colors duration-default shadow-externalLink hover:text-blue-900\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artnews.com\/art-news\/news\/tim-blum-unplugs-from-the-gallery-machine-1234746678\/?utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=exacttarget&amp;utm_campaign=Breakfast+-+7.02.2025+++-+20250&amp;utm_content=618474_7-2-2025&amp;utm_id=618474\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Artnews<\/a>, the transition was not sparked by the industry-wide <a class=\"transition-all duration-default shadow-internalLink hover:text-red-900\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theartnewspaper.com\/2025\/04\/08\/global-art-sales-plummeted-12-per-cent-2024-art-basel-ubs-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drop in art sales<\/a>\u2014Blum says he is burnt out after 30 years. \u201cThis is not about the market,\u201d Blum told Artnews. \u201cThis is about the system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">Just weeks ago at Art Basel, Blum was frank about the art market\u2019s gloomy state of affairs. He told <a class=\"transition-all duration-default shadow-internalLink hover:text-red-900\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theartnewspaper.com\/2025\/06\/18\/what-does-a-so-called-buyers-market-means-for-art-basel-sales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Art Newspaper<\/a> that \u201ccollectors have more negotiating power right now\u2014if anyone says otherwise, they\u2019re full of shit.
